Fun Things Friday!

The weekend is finally here!!!  Let’s jump right into some fun things for this Friday!

1.  Annabelle was traumatized by the Easter Bunny. She finally settled down for a picture when I sat in between her and the bunny.

2.  She did enjoy her Easter basket though. The big hit…Elmo bubbles!

3.  Annabelle loves to play with and stand in her potty. Luckily, she doesn’t understand how to use it quite yet. ☺️

4.  I bought the 21 Day Fix DVDs. I’ve only done one workout so far because we lost the remote to our DVD player and I can’t move to the other workouts.  #losing.  I also tackled two Insanity workouts this week (cardio and strength/max cardio plyo) and man are they TOUGH!!!

5.  Post workout lunch…turkey, string cheese, and cucumbers and carrots.  Don’t worry…me and Annaballe shared some strawberry yogurt covered pretzels too.

Have a great weekend and eat some ice cream!  PS I had a pint of Ben and Jerry’s at 11:30 pm last night. The struggle is real.

A really good run and a really good Apple.

Happy Friday! This has been one busy week and I am so glad the weekend is here. I am happy to report that Annabelle is behaving like an angel (well, mostly) and now asks for her cup instead of a bottle. She also falls asleep after crying for only a few minutes and sleeps all night. This makes for a happy baby in the morning. #winning

I don’t know if it was my pancake and chicken maple sausage breakfast or my new running tights, but today’s run felt great. I set out to do at least 6 and had to fight the cold wind the whole time, but I ended with 8.10 miles. My route was pretty hilly, so I was happy to get in a few miles in the low 8’s. It just felt good to run today.

After refueling with a sweet potato topped with black beans, cheese, and avocado, I had an apple (and this was a GOOD apple) with peanut butter. I’ve been eating almond butter lately and I must say, it was good to eat some old fashioned peanut butter.

I also spent some time listening to the Serial podcast. Have you guys heard of this? I read a number of other bloggers talk about it, so I decided to listen. I had no idea the story takes place right where I work.

The rest of the evening was spent taking selfies and eating pizza.

Now it’s time to watch Shark Tank and eat some cake and ice cream! We are still celebrating AB’s birthday. πŸ™‚

Have a great Friday night!

Do you watch Shark Tank? If so, who is your favorite shark?

Fun Things Friday!

Happy Friday! Fridays are my favorite…I work from home (in pjs) and Chris is usually off at night. πŸ™‚

Let’s get right into the fun stuff! Please feel free to play along in the comments and let me know about some fun things in your world!

1. We took AB to Dutch Wonderland on Sunday and she loved the rides. Her favorites were the carousel and the airplanes. πŸ™‚

PS My blue striped jacket is from Stitch Fix! <—-referral link. πŸ™‚

2. I went to the dermatologist for my annual skin checkup (I'm very mole-y). Fun fact…Annabelle likes to point at all of my moles and say "mooooole". How sweet of her to point all of them out. My doctor looked at my face and said she could, "fix it." Here's to not having a middle school girl's skin anymore!

3. We had an earthquake drill at work today. It was called “The Great Shakeout.” Kelly and I had some fun with it and enjoyed the 3 minutes we got to spend under our desks. πŸ™‚

4. I ate a lot of healthy food this week! Yesterday’s breakfast was a Thomas’ English muffin topped with Justin’s Maple Almond Butter and a banana…yes, I made it into a smiley face. For lunch, I had a veggie burger topped with Colby cheese served with a side of veggies.

In case you are wondering about my calcium intake, I will be eating ice cream in a few minutes. πŸ™‚

5. I got a flu shot yesterday. While this isn’t really fun, at least I hopefully won’t get the flu. I often have a mild reaction to the shot and fall ill the next day. I may be feeling pretty bad by the time you all read this. I was attempting to take a picture of the bandaid on my arm, but it just wasn’t working out. However, I did get a semi decent picture of one of my other favorite Stitch Fix items. <—-referral link πŸ™‚

6. I ran today! I’ve been in a bit of a running rut lately. I guess two back to back marathon training cycles with a 50k thrown in caused me to burn out. I still love to run, but it’s been nice to not have the pressure of training and meeting certain time goals. Today I enjoyed a nice 6.3 mile run with Jeanette and it felt great.

Tell me something fun about your Friday, weekend, life, anything!

Fun Things Friday!

Happy Friday!!!

1. It’s only 9 days until my birthday…and my 50k race.

2. It’s only one week until our family beach vacation. Throwback to July 2013. πŸ™‚

3. Marathon training…again. I really hope I can pull off a BQ in September!

4. Fresh fruit! I am in LOVE with strawberries. When I was little, my family went to Sizzler on Easter and I would get plates full of just strawberries. Not sure why or how I remember this…

5. It’s 7-11, so make sure to get your free Slurpee. We don’t have 7-11s where I live…anybody else in the same boat? It’s also “dress like a cow” for a free meal day at Chic Fil A.

Tell me something fun about your Friday!

Slurpee or milkshake?

Fun Things Friday!

1. One of my BFFs (she was my college roommate, Go Tigers!) had her first baby last weekend and I am meeting him this afternoon!

2. We are having dinner (pizza night!) at another one of my BFFs (friends since 6th grade) house tonight. I haven’t seen her and her beautiful family for way too long, so it will be nice to catch up.

(Throwback to January 2013)

3. My awesome coworker made my day today. A Grande soy chai was just what I needed this morning.

4. I made the best dessert this week. Please go buy these Oreos before they stop selling them. πŸ™‚

5. Annabelle learned how to say “Poppy” this week. It’s so darn cute.

What do you normally get from Starbucks?

Fun Things Friday!

1. Cotton candy at work = winning. Thanks, Marissa!

2. Freshly manicured feet. Yes, I have very tiny toenails.

3. Yesterday’s healthy meals.

4. Last night’s dessert. πŸ™‚

5. I’m reuniting with my marathon training buddy and doing a 2 hour trail run tomorrow morning. Can’t wait!

Happy Friday! I hope you have lots of fun in store for this weekend. πŸ™‚

1. My mom is coming home to visit for the weekend!!!! I haven’t seen her in a month and I don’t know if I’ve ever gone that long without seeing her before.

(dancing with Annabelle)

2. I’m wearing new shoes today! That always makes a day better, right? I absolutely love these Toms because they have so much cushion…and they are bright yellow!

3. Even though I am trying to cut down on my dessert intake, I did go to the Cheesecake Factory with friends this week and I did eat a brownie ice cream sundae (I’m not a huge cheesecake fan).

4. Favorite breakfast of the week: Cascadian Farm Organic Graham Crunch with strawberries and vanilla almond milk.

5. National Running Day was on Wednesday. I had to partake in the celebration (of course) and headed out for 6.3 miles at lunch time. It was very hot and humid and the overall 8:20 pace was grueling. Did I really just train for and run a 3:35 marathon??? Sure doesn’t feel like it! The best part of the run was being with friends and getting my Altras back into my shoe rotation.

Tell me something fun about your Friday!

What’s the longest you’ve gone without seeing your family?

Fun Things Friday!

1. It’s Friday and I’m heading to the beach this weekend. πŸ™‚

2. I ran with a big group or work friends on Wednesday and my knee actually felt pretty good. Sooo happy about this.

(My beloved Pure Flow 2s)

3. I made a few pretty tasty dinners this week!

Rosemary and olive oil flatbread pizzas (with veggie pepperoni) and steamed zucchini

Over easy egg, waffle fries, and chicken with spinach, zucchini, and cheese

4. My dad does not drink much water…like close to none. I ordered convinced him to start drinking a big glass of water each night and he has started doing it on his own. πŸ™‚

(He is wearing one of Chris’ hats and we were laughing at how funny he looks in it.)

5. Molly made herself very comfortable in bed last night. ❀ She uses Chris' pillow like a human!

Tell me something fun about your Friday!

Do you have a dog? Is he or she a bed hog?
Yes and yes. πŸ™‚

Fun Things Friday: Stories from my iPhone

Happy Friday! I am so glad this week is over… I feel like I may have to bury my face in pizza and ice cream tonight.

Ok, so here are some random pics from my phone and I’m going to consider them “fun” today. Mmk. πŸ™‚

I am properly preparing Annabelle for life…she knows the importance of a selfie.

My mom’s card to me on race morning…I absolutely LOVE it and I tear up every time I read it.

AB snuggling up with Molly. She just learned how to say “stay” and point to Molly. πŸ™‚

I had an intense craving for Chipotle this week. Why is it so good??

Baby shower for my work friend Alex and his wife Regina. Can’t wait to meet their baby girl! PS Marissa makes the best cupcakes.

I took one of my internet BFF’s advice and added strawberries and bananas to my cereal (Kashi Honey Nut) and it was amazing.

Linda’s Life Lesson for the week: If you see that ice cream is 2 for $5, you must get 2. Or as my friend Matt pointed out, I should have gotten 4.

How was your week?

What are you looking forward to this weekend?

Fun Things Friday!

1. Cheerios with strawberries…such a good combo.

2. Track workout yesterday was dare I say…fun?!?! Well, let’s just say I felt way better than last week and I am feeling more and more ready for next Sunday. Our workout was 5 x 1000m in 4:09 with a 200m RI and another minute of rest.

3. I’m loving this Chapstick right now…and I’m pretty picky about these things.

4. Spicy chicken and cashew salad from Wendy’s. They aren’t lying about the spicy part, but it’s a pretty good fast-food salad.

5. Dark chocolate and berries granola with strawberry Greek yogurt. Snack of champions. πŸ™‚

6. Love this little girl. πŸ™‚

7. Doesn’t every 31 year old have a Mickey Mouse sandwich container? πŸ™‚

8. Tomorrow is our last long run of training! 10 miles, piece of cake! Hmm, now I want cake.

9. I recently read that you should start carbo loading as many as 5 days before the race and increasing carb consumption slowly up until race day. Done!

10. My mom and AB watching Sesame Street. ❀

What’s your favorite carb?
