Sunday Funday!

It’s been a super long time since I’ve posted. To my loyal readers (Rob, Mom, Dad, and Aunt Janice), I am sorry. 😉  In case you are new here, my name is Linda and I love my family, running, and ice cream. I’m currently training for a September marathon and hope to qualify for Boston. Please stick around!                                   ———————————————–

This weekend was a good one filled with lots my favorite things…

Running!  16 miles on Saturday morning. Jeanette and I averaged a 9 minute pace and it was awesome.

Napping!  Saturday afternoon nap with my favorite little girl.

Ice cream!  This was my first time trying this brand. I planned on just having a few bites. A few bites = the whole pint.

Snacks!  I’ve been on a serious popcorn kick lately.  Ya know, I need the salty to balance out the sweet.

Family fun day!  I bought Chris super good tickets to the Oriole’s game for Father’s Day. We had such a good time.

(As seen on my Instagram lindarunning4two)

Now that I’ve watched Big Brother (anybody else love this show), ate my weight in ice cream, and stayed up way too late, I NEED to go to bed. I woke up with a weird hip/butt/IT band issue going on and really really really hope it starts feeling better tomorrow. Please cross your fingers and toes for me.

Good night!

Chipotle Night!

Today was a normal Wednesday in the life of a working mama. I got up at 6:00 (after snoozing a few too many times), showered, and headed to my happy place before heading to work. My happy place = Starbucks. I tried the new Tiramasu Latte with nonfat milk and whipped cream. It was good, but I will probably stick to my normal choices.

After my lovely 1 1/2 hour commute, I checked my email and dug into my overnight oats. I haven’t made this in a long time and it was well overdue.

I worked for a few more hours, answered a dozen of phone calls, and got hung up on once. It was nice little morning. Around noon, Jeanette and I headed outside for a glorious 6.83 mile run. While we had to dodge some snow and ice covered roads and sidewalks, the sun was shining and the temps were balmy (30 degrees!).

Lunch was leftovers from last night’s dinner. I think it actually tasted better today than it did last night. Spoiler alert: This will be my lunch tomorrow too. I also had a Yoplait Greek Whipped Yogurt and it was a nice change from the traditional kind.

While I was slaving away at work, my mom sent me this beauty. How rude! 🙂

My afternoon snack was a banana with a side of almond butter on plates leftover from my baby shower over 2 years ago. I should really quit my day job to be a food photographer.

Dinner was you guessed, Chipotle! Ever since Chris has been off work on Wednesday nights, I’ve been picking up Chipotle for dinner. I’m always excited to eat it, but man does it feel like a rock in my stomach now.

We usually end Chipotle night with fro yo, but it’s going on 9 pm now and they close in a few minutes. Looks like I will have to settle for something from my stash while Chris and I watch some Law and Order: SUV (you Sopranos fans out there will know why we call it SUV instead of SVU). What to choose?? Red velvet oreos, white fudge oreos, Reese’s Hearts, peanut M&Ms, Hershey’s Hugs. I do have ice cream in the fridge, but that is the last thing I ate before I got sick on Saturday night and I may never eat that ice cream again.

What time did you wake up this morning?

What kind of job do you have? Customer Service, cube life, service industry?

Almond butter or peanut butter?

A day in my life.

Get ready for an inside look into one of my way too exciting workdays. 🙂

I should get up around 4:30 am, but most days I roll out of bed at 5…sometimes 5:10.

I still have my alarms for Ragnar ready for next year. 🙂

I leave for work between 5:30 and 6 and got to work between 6:30 and 7. After getting settled and checking emails, I walk to the cafeteria for coffee or tea. Up until a few weeks ago I almost always got coffee, but I’ve been on a tea kick lately.

I eat my breakfast around 8:30 and oatmeal with blueberries was on the menu for today.

I work until lunch time and I am more than ready to hit the pavement. My lunch time run is one of the best parts of my day (getting home to Annabelle tops the list). I went out with Jeanette today and we did a little over 6 miles at an 8:21 pace.

Once I get back to my desk, I eat lunch and work through the afternoon. Today’s lunch was a veggie burger with edamame and minus the sweet potatoes and add a strawberry Greek yogurt to the picture below.

By 3:30, I’m usually ready for a snack. Today’s snack was a banana swimming in a bath of almond butter.

I left work around 4:30 pm and got home around 5:45. Everyday when I get home, Molly, Annabelle, and I hang outside and play. Unfortunately this will end next week when it’s close to dark at 5. :-/

While I make dinner, AB watches Sesame Street. Don’t worry, this is not where she usually sits on her chair.

We ate dinner around 6:30 and it was super simple but super tasty. Chicken, white cheddar Mac and cheese, and edamame.

After playtime and bath time, we hopped in the car to drop something off to Chris at his work. Baby girl was so tired and she was asleep before I left the driveway. When we got home, she went right from the car to her crib…without her night time milk. Fingers crossed she still sleeps all night.

AB was asleep by 8 pm, so I Facetimed with my dad, cleaned up toys, and made a list of things I need at the store tomorrow.

On of my beloved traditions was next…dessert! Tonight’s selection was chocolate milk and chocolate chip cookies.

At this point, I would normally pack my breakfast and lunch for tomorrow and then watch some tv. Since I work from home tomorrow, I skipped right to the tv part. I love my sweatshirt blanket.

I will probably close up shop around 10:30 pm…I LOVE my bed. 🙂

What time do you wake up for work?

How long is your commute?

White or chocolate milk?
