Happy Easter!

I spent the morning with 40 other yogis at Bikram yoga class.  Since I sweat off about 5 pounds this morning, I will not feel bad about the bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs I’m about to consume.

Daddy dressed Annabelle while I was gone.  If he dresses her, you can be sure she will be wearing Orioles or Ravens gear.

We all got pretty and headed to dinner with my parents and my cousin Carrie (also known as AB’s Aunt CK).

004 006 008 012

Chris seems to have been sporting a semi-mohawk today :).

My parents bought Annabelle a big stuffed duck for Easter and AB enjoyed using it as a pillow enough time for me to get a good picture.

And then happy time was over…

I hope everyone had a great day!  I’m off to eat candy for the rest of the night :).

What do you think?

Did you make dinner today?

Did you buy a new Easter outfit for your little ones?

Absolutely!  Daddy did a great job picking out her dress, sweater, and socks.  He went to Gymboree and didn’t look at the price tags…needless to say he was floored when he got to the register.  She will be wearing this weekly until it no longer fits.

Annabelle meets the Easter Bunny

Annabelle has decided that she wants to party during the 4 am hour again…she stopped doing that for a few weeks and it was glorious.  Since I was super tired this morning, I missed out on yoga (sorry Andrea).  When I finally got up and moving, I made it to the gym for a workout.

Yesterday’s workout: (since I didn’t post it yesterday)

30 minutes on the elliptical at level 12

5000 meters on the rowing machine, level 10 – 500 meters with a 1:00 minute rest repeated 10 times.  FYI:  If you  have not tried the rowing machine, you really should.  It’s an amazingly great workout and I am so tired afterwards.

10 minutes on the stairmaster at level 14

Today’s workout:

30 minutes on the elliptical at level 12

3067 meters on the rowing machine, level 10 – row for 1:40 and then 20 second rest repeated 7 times

WOD – 10 burpees, 15 jump squats, 10 moving push ups,  15 mountain climbers, 15 tricep dips, 15 floor ski jumps, plank:  repeated 3 times

I worked out almost everyday while I was pregnant, but it was just to stay in some sort of shape and it made me feel good…nothing too intense.  It feels so good to now get in those workouts that kick my butt and I feel a few days later.

Chris played Mr. Mom while I was gone and he had AB bathed and dressed when I got home.  We had a big day planned…Annabelle’s first Easter Bunny visit!  This Easter Bunny was not as scary as some I have seen and AB seemed more interested in the lights on the ceiling than the bunny :).  Thanks for the Easter outfit Aunt CK!

Annabelle with Poppy and Grandses

After the Easter Bunny excitement, we had lunch.  I had a spinach salad with chicken, cranberries, grapes, walnuts, and gorgonzola cheese.  My mom and I also split some breadsticks.

013 014

The rest of the afternoon was spent napping and watching a few episodes of Wipeout.  I don’t care what anybody says, this show is hilarious.

My mom and I decided to go to the Fresh Market and we couldn’t help stopping in Athleta…we ended up buying eachother birthday presents :).

Just because she is so darn cute…

What do you think?

Do you think the Easter Bunny is a little scary looking?

What are your Easter plans?

Dinner with family 🙂

Trip to Washington DC

On Wednesday, we took a trip to DC.  Kenzie and Morgan had never been and they were excited to see the Nation’s capital in person.  Annabelle was excited as well.

003 005

Our first stop was the Holocaust Museum.  The museum has a “main exhibition” that is 3 floors and covers before the war, during the war, and the aftermath.  Before you enter, everyone pics up a small booklet.  Each booklet highlights one person and describes their experience.  The last page of the booklet describes what happened to each person and sadly, many did not survive.  The exhibit is full of great information, but it was hard to read everything because it was very crowded.  Although it was a very sad time in history, I’m glad that we went and got to experience it.

If you plan on visiting the Holocaust Museum, check ahead and see if they are still selling tickets to the main exhibition.  On the day that we went, they were not selling anymore passes and actually didn’t have any available until June.  We were very lucky and were given complimentary passes from a very nice lady that worked there.

Next, we visited the Natural History museum.  We were all starving when we arrived, so we headed straight to the cafateria for a late lunch.  I ordered a turkey sandwich, grapes, and a small drink and my total was $18.10…  Annabelle thought it was funny that we had to pay for lunch since she always eats for free :).

009 014

Kenzie and Morgan had fun checking out the musuem.

Next, we took a cold and windy walk to see the White House.  Cars are not allowed to drive along this road, but they allow people to walk along this fence in order to get a glimpse of the President’s home.

025 022

After the White House, we walked back to the mall to see the Capitol and the Washington Monument.

029 031

Even though it was cold and windy and I couldn’t feel my hands or my face, it was a great day and it was fun to see Morgan and Kenzie experience it for the first time.  🙂

Since AB was such a good baby all day long, we rewarded her with a cookies and cream milkshake from Chick-fil-A.

Morgan also enjoyed a milkshake…at least the part of it that actually made it in her mouth :).

Twinner day #2…I can never pass up a really soft sweathshirt on sale.

John, Emmy, and the girls left this morning :(.  It was really great to spend a week with them and I loved having the company.  The house is so quiet now, please come back soon!

What do you think?

Ever been to DC?

Do you like museums?

Baby Photo Shoot

This morning started with french toast

stuffed with this stuff.

After breakfast, my SIL Emmy and I went to the gym.  We had to get in a good workout to compensate for the gigantic dinner we were going to eat.

Today’s Workout

40 minutes on the elliptical at level 12

Rowing machine on level 10 – 4 intervals:  2000 meters, 1500 meters, 1000 meters, 500 meters=5068 meters in a little over 25 minutes

I ended with a one mile run on the hill setting for a quick 100 calorie burn.  I left the gym sweaty and happy :).

When we got home we prepped Annabelle for her photo shoot.  Emmy, who takes awesome pictures, was nice enough to take some shots of baby AB for us.  Here is a little sneak peek…

043 045 047  Absolutely love them.

We went to dinner at one of our favorite places ever…Friendly Farms.  Before you are seated, you order your main course…crab cake, shrimp, fried chicken, steak, etc.  Once you sit down, you are given appetizers such as cottage cheese, warm apples, cole slaw, apple butter, and rolls.  When your main course comes, you are given french fries, corn, and green beans.  Everything is served family style and you can get as much as you want :).

I ordered the crab cake and fried shrimp platter and it is sooo good.  Also, check out that roll…it is fried dough covered in sugar and I could eat them all day long.

034 033

AB was super excited about my crab cake.

Dinner was followed by ice cream…but they don’t let you have as much as you want :(.  The moose tracks is by far the best flavor and I ate it too quickly to even think about a picture.  Morgan and I were twins in our American Eagle sweatshirts.  We are trying to make matching cool again.

What do you think?

Are you good at taking pictures?

Do you like seafood?

SNOW Day…and shopping!

AB sleeping update:  She slept from 8 pm to 5:45 am the other night!  It was so amazing!  She did not repeat that last night…

We woke up to a winter wonderland yesterday…just a reminder, it is officially Spring time.  Even though most people were not happy about the snow, I know two pretty ladies that were delighted!

020 007 010

Morgan and Kenzie live in a magical place that is almost always warm and sunny, so this was their first time seeing snow!

While Kenzie, Emmy, my mom, and I decided to hit the mall, Morgan took full advantage of the snow and went tubing with some of my family.  She had a great time!

021 022

Before we went to the mall, I did a little workout of the day (WOD) in the basement.  It looked like this:

Warmup (repeat 3 times)

50 jumping jacks

50 jogs

30 Heismans

30 1-2-3’s

50 butt kicks

50 high knees

Workout (repeat 3 times)

10 walking pushups

20 burpeees

20 squat jumps

20 in and out abs

20 belt kicks

20 tricep dips

Plank (hold for as long as possible)

It was a great workout and I definitely worked up a sweat.

When we finally got to the mall, we were all pretty hungry.  We decided on the Cheesecake Factory for lunch.  They have a whole menu with “Skinnylicious” items and there was a lot to choose from.  I ordered the turkey and avocado sandwich with a green salad and swapped half of my sandwich with my mom for some of her chinese chicken salad.  It was all very good.

013 015

and then this happened…

I decided that I like cake way better than cheesecake, so I ate the chocolate cake layers and left the cheesecake ones.  Since I didn’t eat it all, it really doesn’t count right?  😉

We did a lot of shopping and I ended up getting a few of the same shirts as Emmy and Kenzie.  Emmy and I are super excited to be twinners, but I’m not sure Kenzie is excited to be twins with her 30 year old Aunt.  My mom bought Annabelle some summer time essentials…

017 023

They are big on her now, but she will be so stylish for next baseball season!!!  🙂

I bought this stuff from Victoria’s Secret.  Have any of you tried it?

What do you think?

Snow:  Pretty or inconvenience?

Do you like to shop?

Most of the time, but some days I’m just not into it.

Do you like cheesecake?

Not as much as I used to.

Sweating it off…and putting it back on.

I woke up feeling a little bloated from the massive amount of food I consumed yesterday.  The only solution was to hit the gym and sweat some of it off.  My SIL Emmy and I went to Gold’s Gym and got in a good workout.  BTW, they gave her a 1-week visitor pass for free :).

My workout included:

30 minutes on the elliptical – Random program on level 10

5000 meters on the rowing machine – Level 10

2 hours on the stair climber and I burned 1,101 calories!!!  JK, I did 10 minutes on level 12 and burned 101.1 calories.

I also did about 10 minutes of abs…1 minute for each brownie I ate yesterday.

In the afternoon, my mom came up and we all went to our favorite place…Cracker Barrel!  I ordered the usual, so I will spare you any more pictures of that.

The crew – John, Emmy, Morgan, Chris, Kenzie, Mom, AB, and me

We couldn’t help ourselves and had to get some of this.

We spent the rest of the night hanging out and watching TV.  Schedule update:  Annabelle was sleeping in her crib by 8 pm!!!

031 032 033 034

What do you think?

Frozen yogurt or ice cream?

Both please!

What did you do this weekend?

Celebrating the marriage of John and Emmy!

Yesterday, I hosted a party to celebrate John and Emmy’s marriage :-).

Since they had a small (and quite lovely) ceremony in November, they decided to have a party to celebrate the wedding with friends and family that could not attend.  We spent the morning prepping and decorating…and trying to keep the boys from eating everything.

The spread included:

Chili and cornbread

Chick-fil-A chicken

Chips and dips – 5 layer, guacamole, buffalo chicken

Veggie platter, m&ms, combos, mixed nuts

Cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcakes, brownies and cookies made from scratch store bought mixes – you need to try these cupcakes…they deliver 🙂

The Bride and Groom!  and Morgan

My mom’s side of the family –

From left to right:  Back row – Me, Mom, Ronnie, Joan, and Janice

Front row – Molly

Annabelle got all dressed up for the party.  She was a big hit!

009 010 016 013

AB was tired out after a long day of visiting.  She loves sleeping on Poppy.

We had a great day with family and friends…and awesome food!  Congrats, Emmy and John!

A good rabbit and triangle pose…and it’s almost party time!!

I went to yoga first thing this morning.  There is nothing like getting drenched in sweat to start the day.  I had a pretty good class and I even got compliments on my triangle and rabbit pose.  Let me tell you, triangle is towards the end of the standing series and it is very challenging.  I was happy to get a “Nice Linda” from the instructor.  She even said that my rabbit was a “very nice posture.”

Chris was on baby duty while I was gone and you can tell that he dressed Annabelle this morning.  Go Orioles! 🙂  And yes, those are baby Under Armour pants.  Thanks Amber!

007 008

Lunch was a bagel sandwich and vanilla yogurt.  I felt like my yogurt needed a little crunch, so I added a crushed up white fudge covered oreo…best idea ever.

006 009

The rest of the day was spent getting ready for the wedding party tomorrow!

012 005 015

We grabbed a quick dinner at Panera Bread and I tried the Power Spinach salad along with broccoli cheddar soup.  Soup is still necessary since it is still super cold and not spring-like at all.

My brother and his family have been in the car all day long and they are almost here!  I hope they enjoy the next week of sleeping on an air mattress and a couch! 🙂

AB is super excited that they are coming.

What do you think?

Do you like getting positive feedback from teachers/instructors?

Do you have family that lives far away from you?

Annabelle’s first day of work.

Long story short…Annabelle was a bit fussy last night and didn’t go to bed until way late.  I was super exhausted and could not pull myself out of bed to make it to yoga (it was a busy day and I had to get it in early if it was going to happen.)  I know I’m a little nuts, but I really HATE missing a workout.  My whole day is just off…you know what I mean, right?  Anyway, we had a full day of visiting scheduled today.

Breakfast on the run…lots of protein and it tastes candy bar-ish.

First, we visited my work so I could introduce AB to all of my coworkers.  They were so helpful and patient with me for those 9 months and I know that they would appreciate meeting her.  Annabelle felt very official because she had her very own badge.

We spent a few hours visiting and I was very happy to see my coworkers…it was great being at work without having to do any work :).

Our next stop was to visit my friend Nakiya who had a beautiful baby boy about a month ago.  I forgot to take a picture, but trust me when I say he is adorable and Annabelle has added him to her future boyfriend list.

Since I had only eaten breakfast, I was super hungry for dinner.  Here is an unappetizing picture of a turkey burger on an english muffin with chips and guacamole on the side…you’re welcome.

Annabelle was very tired from her day of visiting…my dad thought it would be rude to make her nap alone so he joined her.  I think my parents really enjoy that I’m showing the world how photogenic they are :).

John, Emmy, Kenzie, and Morgan will be here tomorrow night!  So excited for them to meet Annabelle.  They are driving up from the Sunshine State, so let’s hope that they bring some warm weather with them!

What do you think?

Do you feel bad when you miss a workout?

Without a doubt…

Does it feel like Spring where you live?

No way!  It is bitterly cold and windy.

Final preparations and COOKIES!

As soon as I woke up today, I felt overwhelmingly stressed.  Go figure, I’m off work for a few months and I still find things to stress about :-(.

I decided to start the day off with waffles and the first waffle stuck because of what I did the other day…  Once I sprayed it with some cooking spray, things went better.  I made Chris plain waffles and then added some blueberries to the batter for mine.

After breakfast we did some more organizing, laundry, and tried to keep Annabelle happy.  It wasn’t working at this moment.

I made some time to fit in a run and I did 5.5 miles at around a 9:13 pace…still no where near my old pace, but an improvement from last week.  I went on this run to relieve some stress and I ended up more stressed!  Two dogs came running down the street and they looked delighted to be out and about.  I am an animal lover and did not want them to get hit by a car, so I ran after them and finally caught one of them long enough to see the phone number on the collar.  I called the owner and left her a voicemail but I couldn’t just leave the dogs out there…so I called Chris to come with the car so we could take them home.  As soon as Chris found me running through people’s yards chasing these dogs, the owners pulled up in their car and got them.  At least it was a happy ending and the pups are home safe now.

When I got home from my not so relaxing run, I had some turkey with multigrain pita chips and guacamole.

I felt the need for a little bit more of a workout, so I did a 20 minute WOD.

10 pushups

20 burpees

15 floor skis

30 mountain climbers

40 squat jumps

50 second plank

I repeated the circuit 4 times and it took me about 20 minutes.  Quick way to break a sweat and get a good workout in.

My mom came over tonight to help out…here is a quick recap of our night.

Dinner – leftover cheesy brussels sprouts with sausage (I added in another bag of brussels sprouts to the leftovers from yesterday) and sweet potato fries.

Annabelle wasn’t happy that we were eating dinner without her, so she had to be held while we ate.

My mom spruced up the guest bathroom for our family coming into town this weekend :).

We made lots of cookies for the party on Saturday.  My house smells amazing!
